Minimum Requirements:

To be eligible, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Possession of a matric certificate.
  • Successful completion of the two years theoretical training required for a National Diploma in Biotechnology/Microbiology/Environmental Sciences or Chemistry.
  • South African citizenship with a valid SA ID Document.
  • Age under 35, in alignment with NSDS guidelines.
  • No prior participation in experiential learning programmes.
  • Need for experience to fulfill National Diploma requirements in Biotechnology/Microbiology/Environmental Sciences or Chemistry.

  • Preparation of media, chemicals, reagents, and samples.
  • Performing analytical analysis on received samples.
  • Documentation and verification of results.
  • Conducting quality control checks.
  • Maintenance of equipment and instrumentation.
  • Adherence to safety, health, and environmental practices.

Knowledge, Skills, and Attitude:

Ideal candidates will possess:

  • Sound theoretical knowledge in Biotechnology/Microbiology/Environmental Science/Chemistry.
  • Effective writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Computer literacy in Word Processing and Spreadsheet applications.
  • Ability to prioritize, organize, and plan.
  • Self-motivation, quality, and output-driven mindset.
  • Interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team.
  • Attention to detail and willingness to work flexible hours.
